But the issue could also be that the thermostat itself is faulty and has lost its connection to the reversing valve.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Broken reversing valve:<\/strong> Now, about that\u2026 the reversing valve is the key component of a heat pump that permits it to change between its two comfort modes. But like any component, the reversing valve can break down and become stuck, and this will stick the system in one mode or the other.
